Artist and sculptor working primarily in wire, Carmine Leta creates empty, light, and transparent objects — inviting the observer to fill a volume that is only suggested, and to bring into focus an illusory portion of space between themselves and the Infinite.
View Works →Carmine draws with the wire — sometimes thin, sometimes thicker — and traces his lines in space. Lines that build a mental order, or develop into a tangle that slowly, relentlessly, evokes recognisable shapes.
His is a sculpture without volume and without weight. Everything leads back to essentiality, even in the most contaminated expressions by the truth.

Art education
A selection of sculptures, installations and site-specific works spanning two decades of research into emptiness, identity, and the dialogue between form and infinite space.

“He is a very passionate and curious person, two qualities I believe very necessary to an artist. I admire the energy he puts into his research and his life. I was personally very intrigued by his sculpture ‘De Digitalium Limite’.”
“Carmine’s is a sculpture without volume and weight that comes to the world per via di porre but also per via di levare — because everything leads back to essentiality, even in the most contaminated expressions by the truth.”
